2.1.1 Embarking/Disembarking

Post by farrier »

A quick query after playing the new v2 rules. Is the following correct?

Embarking/Disembarking into/out off transport/garrisons is all done as part of a squads movement action and in addition to this an aerial transport unit has an extra embark or disembark action it can use, as long as it has not or will not move more than half MV

Thanks

Does no-one have an answer? This seems fairly fundamental to the whole game and I'm struggling with some of the ambiguous wording in the rules. :?

Not exactly.
The restriction that units cannot embark/disembark to/from flying transport, if the flying transport has moved more than half of its movement, is always a requirement at all times.
It is true that flying transports have a free embark/disembark once per activation, allowing them to embark/disembark and keep moving.
Apart from that, the only way for the units to embark/disembark, is for the air transport to have finished its activation landing on the ground.

Thanks for the reply, so to clarify is the following legal?

Infantry leave a Garrison into a Bear using the infantry's move action.
Bear moves 6" embarks onto a Condor using the Bear's move action
Condor moves 5" lands, disembarks Bear using the Condor's free disembark
Condor takes off and moves the remaining 4" of its half MV move, Bear and embarked infantry can do nothing else this turn as they have used up their actions

Exactly, as long as the condor is landed on the ground before the bear embarks.
