Overgrown City (2 Year Project)

Post by Stevefamine »

Hello!

I heard the news about the other forum and wanted to pop in! I know there was an article on my demo table I made a few years back and wanted to add some content to this forum. .

This is my 5x4ft overgrown city table. It's modular in six 20x30 tiles. All of the buildings are a mix of resin and the cardstock originals. The overpass is from Blotz and while I recommend it - it's not that durable.

Feel free to ask any questions or more photos of a specific object!

Some in game photos (in my old in between apartment in the city before I bought my current place):

Thank you! I nabbed quite a few players with Demo games back in the day purely based off the table

Hardboard with foamcore layers on top - some warping so it was remounted to a flat 5x4 piece of wood with the new owner

I love to have a forum. These posts will actually be easily found instead of facebook's algorithms.

Well done.

I remember this one from the old forum. Still one of the best table builds ever done. Thank you for sharing it here.
Passion has little to do with euphoria and everything to do with patience. It is not about feeling good. It is about endurance. Like patience, passion comes from the same Latin root: pati. It does not mean to flow with exuberance. It means to suffer.

I use FB only to organize D&D meetups or check to see when stores are running local events. It's terrible otherwise. Instagram is extremely popular with the hobby side of wargaming with Gamesworkshop and a sprinkling of HWG fans.

Thanks! Yeah I made it modular so it fit down into a 20x30x6 chunk + buildings so I could run demos at a few local stores. Basically the community that I sparked interest went "Well this is great! I'll buy a Starter Kit!... but wait whats this new things called Dropfleet". We've had a few 4 way ffa games with starter kit forces that were a bit hectic before I sent it out.

I actually had the table at three different places. I built the table while living with a ton of roommates that games all day and we had a WHFB/giant 8x4 wargaming table setup year round there. The next place was before I bought my current place and it was a mini 600sqft apartment in a new city so it stayed boxed unless I took it down to a store. My goal is to evnetually graduate to a mancave setup and have racks upon racks of terrain
