So I tried to maximize the number of hull points at the highest possible armor I could get while maintaining some modicum of viability. It comes out to 182 hull points total, 14 from cent +140 from Madrid's +28 from New Orleans. With 14 Madrid's I'm reasonably sure it will be possible to delete the map if required, and going WF will actually allow for some decent firepower, but I have no idea how well this would work against a traditional fleet.

The ww2 maxim was that the bomber would get through - think this might be the bombardment might get through

I should hope so!
Re: Viability of... The brick
Hmm interesting concept but you have extremely little in the way of space firepower and are relying on the 4+ shoulderguns from all those Madrids.
Might still work due to sheer numbers though

Those Madrids will form a squadron, so they will combine their fire, especially interesting for their weak CA.
