Re: Fluff discussion

The comment assumes there is a new existential threat taking centre stage, presumably striking at earth (Callisto) and leaving Mankind little choice.

Re: Dreadnought rules?

The Scourge super-Dreadnoughts are described by Dave as the size of the gaming table. While I appreciate that Dave has said this... I think it's important to recognize that as the creative mind behind the game... he also changes his mind sometimes. As he did, by allowing for the creation of Resista...

Re: New Factions ideas

I want to see an insect race that A) uses technology, B) isn't a hive mind (though collectivist minded is fine)

And in general a race that has a grudge against the Shaltari.

Re: Fluff discussion

I could see a new faction entering the fray, and as a result, the Human factions have to grudgingly accept a defacto peace with the Scourge, with the Scourge potentially losing earth, but retaining the other holdings and generally working to "get the hell out of dodge" and find a new easy prey speci...

Re: Ship names

Well personally I'm happy that the names vary so much, as it gives creative freedom to players to name their ships as they see fit... For example, I name all my UCM ships after battles. Stalingrad, Verdun, Midway, Metaurus, etc. I suppose you could make the case though that each individual shipyard ...

Re: UCM needs some love (and help)

I personally think the Broadsword should have a sensor suite of sorts (ala the Ares) allowing it to reroll misses (even on Drop and Shoot), and possibly have the round ignore soft/hard cover. Area is an interesting idea, and I could see that being a point-costed equipment option that you add to an e...

Re: Fluff discussion

I personally prefer the Scourge as the sole group of Scourge, and nomads, as originally presented. The Shaltari would not be "throwing species in their way" as it were, to stop a single group of Scourge. Nor would they be fighting a civil conflict and spending lives just to create a "Serious challen...

Re: UCM needs some love (and help)

"Also, all aircraft have worse AC than battle tanks. If we suppoced to be air-heavy why don't increase Falcons/Eagles/Phoenix acuracy to 2+ " Because that would be grossly imbalanced... they are air units and only a minority of opponent's weapons can actually attempt to hurt them. The Flying Circus ...
