Re: UCM Monitors: Instanbul vs Vienna
As I posted elsewhere, Istanbuls could help out a San Fran. Defend it, and help clear the landing zone. Yeah I'm leaning a bit towards the Instanbul right now. I think given the utility, high scan range and lower cost and Istanbul might not be that bad of frigate. The idea of a BTL frigatr is still...

Re: UCM Monitors: Instanbul vs Vienna
Yeah, I'm starting to see the downsides of the Vienna. It does not have the speed to keep up with the larger BTL ships and in a flag group ot might be wasted. Not sure if I'd replace jakartas with Vienna's in that case. The Istanbul seems to offer a lot if utility. Not so sure about its bombardment ...

UCM Monitors: Instanbul vs Vienna
Since the Monitor are out on preorder, I'm starting to consider getting a single blister of the UCM ones. Now the question becomes, which type do I build. Naturally, I tend to gravitate towards BTL's since I'm in a PHR heavy enviroment. So the Vienna has a lot of alure, especially with the Aegis hel...

Re: Viability of... The brick
Hmm interesting concept but you have extremely little in the way of space firepower and are relying on the 4+ shoulderguns from all those Madrids.
Might still work due to sheer numbers though

That is an unusualist. Would you care to explain your thought process behind it?

Re: Resistance Starter Box
I think Resistance heavy cruisers are pretty weak compaired to the Grand cruiser/battlecruiser options. I'd rather have a Centurion then any gun based heavy cruiser to be honest. The only Heavy cruiser that is viable I think is a Launch based heavy, a Resistance version of the Bellerophon. Especiall...

Re: Resistance builds
Thatbis a lot of firepower with limited thrust and armour. Not sure if that would work to be honest

Re: How to use monitors
Yeah, looking forward to the Vienna. That will probably be the first UCM monitor I use.
Although not technically a monitir but an escort frigate.
I think the Pandora needs a points reduction in the next errata

Re: Dropship ratio and ground combat
I don't agree completly with that. But in my opinion limiting drop is the wrong way to counter dropspam. Nowadays there are plenty of decent counters and just because these exist you need to bring a decent amount of drop. To buffer the losses you will take.

Re: Dropship ratio and ground combat
Why would you limit drop? That would just mean you both claim a cluster and maybe have a brawl in the middle. With lots of drop you can fight effectively on multiple fronts
