Re: Scourge and “your dudes” story hooks

My pet theory is that there's a faction that's made up of the remnants of other species that the Scourge used up before getting to the humans, and that they're trying to build up for revenge. Unfortunately the humans seem to be getting to it first, and they really can't cope with the idea that they...

Re: Prewar EAA history and story hooks

From what we know about Shaltari, I doubt they would have given any humans (even loyalists) any access to "protected" worlds and it's unlikely they gave them any technology beyond what they already had. I mean, maybe if there was a (for lack of better term) cult who worshiped the Shaltari and asked ...

Re: Rule question

You still have a "shots" statistic in the weapon profile. Using the Phoenix as an example, you have Limited-2 on the Missile Battery, but you still have "1" under Shots.

Re: Scourge

Scourge has walkers and skimmers too. The only slot where they don't really have an option is for the heavy slots, where it's just a choice between two skimmers. Everywhere else it's a choice between walkers and skimmers and/or flyers. That being said, Scourge do seem to have less individual units (...

Re: Some experimental rules...

It's a field that's 1000 meters wide rather than one that's 100 meters wide.

That still doesn't change the fact that you have much less to sift through.

But it's your rules, if you want to play them that way, go for it.

Re: Some experimental rules...

IMO, the difference between high orbit and low orbit for sig can be summed up in the following analogy: You're trying to use binoculars to find your friend who's holding a flashlight and standing in a field. Low orbit he's standing in a field with 100 other people, some of them are holding flashligh...

Re: Some experimental rules...

I almost feel that 1 and 6 should be reversed (high orbit being further out of the gravity well, while low orbit gives you a better chance of masking signature against the background of the planet). I like 2 and 4, not a huge fan of 3 (pretty much gives away a UCM command card), and 5 I think should...

Re: Objectives Required

If memory serves you can get away with one of each sector pack for the main rule book missions (as long as you swap one of the Commercial or Industrial sectors for the other in one mission, I think it’s take and hold at Battle level). There’s a couple of missions in the BFE book that throw that way ...

Re: Dreadnought rules?

You could probably pick up one of those Death Star mats for Star Wars and use that to say you’re fighting over one, with sectors representing nodes on the ship you’re fighting over.
