Re: Gauntlet's Showcase

Thank you so very much! You should let me know if you have any favorites or want tutorials on anything specific.

Obviously the "Novgorod" is already detailed on the site.

Re: Gauntlet's Showcase

Been too long! I've actually painted a ton of DFC minis... but I just finished uploading them to my site: A entire Resistance fleet... perhaps the scrappiest and most weathered in existence? https://sites.google.com/view/gauntlets-miniatures/dropzonefleet-commander/resistance-fleet My UCM fleet... c...

Re: Comms question

Ships generally relay bursts of data by opening FTL portals and sending to receiver. Presumably, automated relays exist within "fortified" space, such as the UCM's worlds, but such infrastructure isn't normally present on the "front lines". For security reasons, they may not rely on the existing inf...

Re: M/F "-"

It means it can always move and fire, basically it means it can benefit from extra movement and still fire

Re: Different Hazard suits

I've been keeping some Wolverine AA turrets for the day I get another batch of Hazards to swap them in instead of the railguns...

and I don't know how it would work, but I'd love to have some Flamer Hazards too.

Re: Are these errors or really weird design choices?

No idea about the corrupter, but I could see it as a balancing move... you could argue that the additional weight and super-structure makes the vessel more vulnerable... and just for kicks, they chose Armor rather than DP... which is much more nuanced.

Most likely a typo though.

Re: Some experimental rules...

The problem is... it's not same field. Your looking for that friend in a field in low orbit, but as you go up, the field is expanded... A Lot. That's why the movement bonus makes sense, because if you are able to move X in High Orbit, and High Orbit is representing a 1000 square KM, then in Low Orbi...

Re: Some experimental rules...

Okay... so ditching #3 (Launch Assets) it's just a pet peeve of mine, that the smallest and nimblest craft can't go into atmo, but plenty of Frigates can. High orbit represents far greater area of space, and therefore shortens sigs. Low orbit represents a smaller area of space to both move within an...

Re: Completing a Scourge Fleet

To be honest... you don't need three Battle-cruisers in my opinion. Might be prudent to sell and acquire more Frigates/etc.

I would recommend:

1 Hydra
1 Chimera
2 Gargoyles
1 Charybdis

Some experimental rules...

I've been thinking of running some test games locally with a series of "advanced" rules for further emulating orbital combat in DFC... without going into "realist" space. Curious what you might think of... 1) Ships in Low Orbit may move an additional 3". This does not affect move value stats, and th...
